Recruiting Committee
The Recruiting Committee helps build and manage a pipeline of qualified candidates to serve on the Board of Directors and School Accountability Committee, including both elected seats and appointments.
About the Group
The Recruiting Committee helps match prospective volunteers with positions on the Board of Directors and School Accountability Committee.
The committee:
- Announces opportunities to fill open seats on the Stargate Board and School Accountability Committee.
- Directs the application process to ensure fairness, transparency and compliance with Stargate Bylaws.
- Manages candidate/prospective candidate correspondence in a way that sets clear expectations for the election/appointment process, enables timely response to inquiries, safeguards candidate privacy and ensures equity throughout the application process.
- Assembles a slate of candidates - based on applications received - for hand off to the Election Committee (elected seats) or to the Board or SAC (appointments).
- Organizes Candidate Forum(s) as appropriate to introduce candidates to the community.
- Follows up with candidates after elections/appointments to thank them and explore additional volunteer opportunities.
- Encourages community engagement in the elections process.

Work typically includes communicating service opportunities, responding to inquiries from prospective volunteers and educating the community about the importance of volunteer leaders at Stargate.
