Self-Governance - Required as a Charter School 

Job Openings:

  • Committee Chair - schedule / run committee meetings, ensure completion of task list items, submit Board reports, hand off approved candidate slate to Election Committee
  • 1-3 committee members, candidate solicitation & communications - provide outreach to potential candidates to gauge interest in running for elected office, ensure transparency to community about nominations period, how to apply for office, eligibility guidelines, etc., coordinate with staff for outreach to all stakeholder groups
  • 1-2 committee members, candidate comms during nomination period - respond to nominations received leveraging pre-approved email template/information package, ensure candidates submit photos with nominations
  • 1 committee member, candidate comms/templates - draft all candidate emails/info docs PRIOR to opening the nominations period, organize docs on a share drive for use during nominations period; support committee with records retention and document archiving
  • Candidate Forum lead (spring election only) - coordinate with Stargate staff to schedule Candidate Forum, recruit moderator for forum, coordinate forum logistics, recording, etc., confirm slate of Qs to ask candidates"
 
Time Commitment: usually 2-3 online meetings (each 30 minutes to 1 hour) during fall election and again during spring election plus whatever time is required for tasks, usually 1-4 hours total task time during each election period. All work can be done at home or after business hours.  
 
Committee Details & How to Apply: solicits volunteers to fill positions on the Board of Directors and School Accountability Committee, including both elected seats and appointments. Contact [email protected].
 
Vacancy Details: long-time volunteers' students will be graduating within the next 2 years. They are looking to transition committee responsibilities this year to new members, ideally with younger students, who can serve for at least 2-3 years to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for elected offices at Stargate. Training will be provided and mentorship available as needed to new volunteers. Recruiting is a Board chartered committee. 

Job Openings:

  • Committee Chair - schedule / run committee meetings, ensure completion of task list items, submit Board reports
  • 1-2 committee members, data/technical specialists - manage SimplyVoting tool and election data according to committee guidelines and Election Policy
  • 1-2 committee members, communications specialists - ensure transparency to the community throughout the election period, work with Stargate staff to provide information about election dates, how to cast ballots, eligibility, etc., respond to voter/candidate requests for information 
 
Time Commitment: usually 2-3 online meetings (each 30 minutes to 1 hour) during fall election and again during spring election plus whatever time is required for tasks, usually 1-3 hours total task time during each election period. All work can be done at home or after business hours.  
 
Committee Details & How to Apply: administers elections at Stargate, ensuring fairness, impartiality, security and integrity of results; work includes communication of election dates, candidate slate, tools/process for voting and election results. To volunteer, contact [email protected].

Community Development - Making Our School a Great Place to Be

Job Openings:
 
  • Committee Chair - work with staff Community Development Manager to set and achieve annual fundraising goals, schedule / run committee meetings, ensure completion of task list items, submit required reports, connect with prospective volunteers and donors
  • Committee members -  work with other committee members to generate fundraising ideas and help with a specific event 
 
Time Commitment: usually 1 meeting each month plus whatever time is required for tasks, varies by project. Most work can be done at home or after business hours

Job Openings:
 
  • Committee members - work with other committee members and staff to generate ideas for community events; the planning and implementation of the events, decorating, building props, or directly showing support for our amazing teachers.    
 
Time Commitment: usually 1 meeting each month plus whatever time is required for tasks, varies by project. Most work can be done at home or after business hours.  
 
Committee Details & How to Apply: The CRC committee welcomes all who wants to plan and/or help implement community events (big and small); as well as help with staff appreciation throughout the year. Contact [email protected].
Job Openings:
 
  • 10-12 committee members - help plan and provide a safe space for students to go after the spring Prom; create decorations, plan and purchase the food, plan and purchase the prizes, arrange activities and organize our plant sale fundraiser. On the weekend of the prom, we will need additional volunteers to set up Friday night and Saturday, attend the After Prom Saturday night and clean up on Sunday.

Elementary lunch is a busy 2-hours and we need parents’ help! Distributing milk, helping with trays for the little ones, opening packages and cartons, and other tasks where needed.  Please refrain from taking this time to have lunch with your student or discuss issues with students.  The shift is from 10:45-12:45.  Please sign up HERE
